COLLABORATE 19 Takeaways
Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of what we do, and what our clients do, that remembering the big picture becomes difficult. Well, we were reminded about that big picture in a big way at this year’s Collaborate conference. One of the things we were most impressed about was how we could extrapolate the ideas we learned and apply them to more than just JD Edwards integration, but to the business at large. So, naturally, we wanted to share some of the key points with you.
UX Matters
You’ve probably heard the term “UX” before, but often “user experience” is an idea that gets written off as necessary for digital marketers and not much else. At Collaborate, we learned the importance of UX across all business spaces, especially internally. Providing a good user experience can increase workforce productivity, attract and retain top talent, and save you resources across the board. Thankfully, with UX One, designing UX for your business is easy and automatic. Determining what is the best user experience for your organization can be a difficult task, but if you lean on a combination of your goals as a company and your knowledge of your team’s needs, you’re off to a great start. Leverage partnerships with business-minded experts to take you the rest of the way.
Upgrade Fearlessly
Tech can be difficult to adapt to, we get that. Especially when every time you settle into a new version of your favorite piece of tech, it feels like it requires an upgrade that leaves you floundering all over again. Thankfully, the learning curve doesn’t have to be that steep, and upgrading doesn’t have to feel so frightening. We took home several new steps to add to our book of best practices when it comes to upgrading seamlessly throughout your organization, from implementation to testing and training all the way to archiving and integrating. If you’re ready to change the way you upgrade (aka start doing it fearlessly), Prophet One is here to help.
To the Cloud
On-premise vs. in the cloud. It’s one of the toughest decisions our clients face every single day. There’s a connection to on-premise, and we understand that, but as we learned at Collaborate this year, there are so many benefits to migrating your JD Edwards application to the cloud, and so few drawbacks. It’s an adjustment, but the ease of use it provides outweighs the learning curve by far. Plus, with the right team at your side to help make that adjustment and migration seamless, it’ll hardly feel like an adjustment at all.
No matter what the best combination of tools is for your organization, what we took away from Collaborate 2019 was right in line with the name of the conference itself. Running a business, at any level, successfully and with longevity in mind, requires collaboration. Between business leaders and their team members, between organizational goals and the technology that makes them happen, between all of those things and partners that help connect the dots flawlessly, no matter where those dots move. At Prophet One, we pride ourselves on being that business-minded partner. Ready to see what we can collaborate on for your greatest success yet? Give us a call today.
